It was a day of festivity at the Craft Exotica 2011 in Sandakan
The Cocos Community showcased their Dansa and Melenggok Dance at Sandakan on May 5, 2011 on the occasion of the Craft Exotica 2011 Opening Ceremony. The group from Kg Balung Cocos, Tawau made the performance made possible by the Malaysian Historical Society Sabah Branch and the Sabah Muzium who provided the necessary funding. A job well done!

Storytelling at the Sabah Muzium by Malaysian Historical Society Sabah Branch
A Storytelling on the Cocos Community was held at the Sabah Muzium on May 12, 2011 in conjunction with the Craft Exotica 2011. The audience was the College and Secondary Schools students and teachers who were later treated to a light refreshment courtesy of the Sabah Muzium. This programme was the joint effort of the Sabah Muzium and the Malaysian Historical Society Sabah Branch.

Muzium Warisan Sandakan To Showcase the Cocos Community Craft
The Dansa performance is scheduled on May 5-6, 2011 at the Muzium Warisan Sandakan. This year's theme of the Sabah Fest 2011 is Exotica Ethnik Craft. The Cocos Community is showcasing its Dance as well as the way to do the head gear called Setangan Tanduk and their national dress, Baskat.
However the Storytelling Session on the Community is scheduled in Kota Kinabalu on May 12 at 10 am at the Sabah Arts Gallery of the Sabah Muzium.
It is free and you are most welcomed to attend.
