That has always been the tradition. The Cocos Islander Community goes visiting the graves of family members who has passed away. They bring water, flower, insence and read some prayers normally the first verse of Alfatihah for the dead, so their soul may rest in peace. After that it is visiting the relatives to wish them greetings of the Hari Raya and it is food and food.
