Cocos Islander Community Origin

History told us they come from Banjarmasin, BORNEO and Cocos Islands. Not many know that they come from GOA. They are three places called GOA; one in Portugal, one in West India, and another one in South Sulawesi.

GOA Sulawesi used to be a spices supplier to the Western world. Alexander Hare was a trader and he came to GOA in search of spices. He was a Scotsman.

History told us that he used to have his own origin in Banjarmasin, an island called Maluka Island. Quite a familiar name eh. Sounds like Moluku Indonesia and Malaka of Malaysia. He had his own currency called Doit Alexander Hare.

His descendants now resided in BORNEO.
